how we started
Gino’s Vino Osteria opened in 2016 and is the creation of veteran restaurant proprietor Gino Catanucci and his wife Li Ping.
Their vision was to bring to Austin an old-world style Italian restaurant that provides a truly unique and memorable dining experience. The focus at Gino’s Vino is on customer satisfaction, offering original recipes from ingredients made from scratch, in a comfortable home-like atmosphere.
In 2024, father-daughter duo Vanessa and Dennis Licona, took over the restaurant aiming to continue the vision that Gino and Ping had for an authentic Italian dining experience in Austin, Texas. We blended our unique flair with their original vision to remain a staple here in Austin, Texas! We hope to see and serve you soon!

Dennis Licona
I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. I have worked in restaurants in New York and I always hear that you can’t find authentic Italian food in Austin. Well, look no further! Gino’s Vino offers homemade pasta, fresh ingredients, and an authentic ambiance that will make you feel like you are in Italy. I live in the area and always wanted to try this place, I was out for a walk and decided to have a solo lunch. The staff were extremely nice, the drinks were incredible, the bread was honestly the best I’ve ever had and the food was so freaking good. I’ll definitely be popping in again and already recommended it to all of my local friends here in ATX. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to an authentic delicious Italian meal.
